Group Blog Introduction (Jacob Sanderson/Liam Parkinson)

This is the group blog of Liam Parkinson, Jacob Sanderson and John Masters. Prior to setting up this blog we have had a couple of meetings where we have discussed out own personal musical interests and have started to piece together genres of music to make a decision of what song we are going to make a music video for.

This was the first mood board that we created as a group where we chose the genres of music that we each liked. This gave us a vague idea of what we were looking at when choosing a song. In this selection there are some similar and some very different genres so we decided that we would need to have another meeting to cut down the variety.

This is the second meeting that we had as a group. We managed to separate the genres and link artists and specific songs in. Here, we also decided that we will definitely not be doing an R&B song because no group members have a strong interest which would make it hard to create ideas for and we will not be doing pop because we will be too influenced by current music videos and it would make our video too similar to an existing video. We're going to go with dance music because we have already thought of a few good ideas for styles of filming and mise-en-scene which we think will allow us to create an industry standard music video.

  1. Hi Team 3, well done so far, great to see your thinking and primary notes from your discussions.

    • Mood board is visual rather than written so get some images together based on your genre chosen to compare and contrast on styling etc
    • Reduce the size of image 1 as it is too large and text on right is obscured.
    • Your text is quite blocky so I suggest you break it down into paragraphs so it is easily read.

    Thank you
